The Hobbit Door House

One-of-a-kind vintage & antique rugs,
carefully curated for maximum joy ❤️

I’ve been scrolling through pictures. Learning to live in, and embrace, the beauty of this 100 year old home has been a trip! At first we painted everything that kind of lifeless greige, not wanting to compete with the bones and details of the house. But, year after year (and it’s a long, slow process IKYK) leaning into warm color, cozy layers (hello, vintage rugs, the loves of my life) prints and textures has been the answer for me. The journey continues, but it’s really fun to look at where we’ve been👏🏻👏🏻🍁
Doesn’t matter where you live, make it yours! Thanks for listening, carry on…

~low, super heavy, handknotted pure wool pile
~in fantastic condition, broken-in evenly and authentically with that storytelling fade that we LOVE.

~the deep raspberry red field, floral & flourish details in cornflower blues-minty green-olive-milky white-light salmon & deep inky blue…REDIC🙌🏼🤤
~ pass this one down for generations. She’s had quite a life, and she has many more to go.

⏲️THURSDAY baby! We love a good rug drop!! This one? She’s SPECTACULAR ❤️ We’ve recently scored a batch of the most special group of 70-90 year old Kars Persian beauties. They were part of a dowry, kept in pristine condition, and ready to start their new life, HERE, with you! Look closely, hope you spy the one (2, 3…) that make you feel all the feels🥰 We’re gonna keep em coming. When they have a soft hand and a pile that’s not completely flat, it means they haven’t been shaved down yet. You know why that’s cool? I’ll tell you! Because in decades from now, if they get a bit tired, you can have them shaved and you’ll have completely new (antique) rugs! They don’t make them like this anymore. Yes, we’re obsessed. Remember, they are unique & TRULY one-of-a-kind. Grab them when you see them👌🏼👌🏼💨

Dropping at 7:30 ET on the dot, see you there!!
